ONGOING CLASSES

 

WINTER WORKSHOP: FEBRUARY 1 – MARCH 14, 2020

(No classes Saturday, February 22)

Absolute Beginners (Introduction to Flamenco) NEW!!!
Saturdays 1:00 – 2:00 PM
This class is for those students who have little to no exposure to flamenco. You will the learn the basic technique for arms, footwork and most importantly, rhythms.  See below for required attire
Class card: $115 for a 6-week class card. Drop-ins: $20

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Technique
Saturdays 2:00 – 3:00 PM
This class is for those students who have had a minimum of two years of training in flamenco dance. Students are expected to have a command of basic flamenco technique and rhythms. We will rigorously work arms, footwork and marcaje (combinations) to flamenco rhythms.  ALL LEVELS WELCOME – drop in to get a good workout!
Class card: $115 for a 6-week class card. Drop-ins: $20

Intermediate/Advanced Choreography
Saturdays 3:00 – 4:30 PM
This class is for those students who have had significant experience and/or training in flamenco dance. Students are expected to have a command of basic flamenco technique and rhythms, as the class is designed for more challenging technique and choreographies. We will continue our work on bulerias and review bata choreography from last year.
Class card: $140 for a 6-week class card. Drop-ins: $25

Location
Classes are held at Tony Williams Dance Studio located in the Brewery Complex, 284 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain. Accessible via T (Stony Brook station on the Orange Line) or by car (plenty of free parking). 

Attire
Please wear character shoes, or boots/shoes with a thick, wide heel. Women should wear a flamenco skirt or a long, full skirt. Men should wear comfortable pants and a t-shirt.
