ONGOING CLASSES

Winter/SPRING schedule: January 7 – JUNE 16, 2012

Beginners I (Technique)
Saturdays 1:00 – 2:00 PM
This class will teach the basics of brazeo (armwork), taconeo (footwork), and palmas (rhythmic clapping) and learn combinations in the specific rhythms of tangos and/or alegrias.
Class card: $60 for a four-class card. (Expires in six weeks.) Drop-ins: $20

Beginners II/Intermediate (Technique/Choreography)
Saturdays 2:00 – 3:30 PM
For students who have a minimum of three years class experience or are familiar with the basic movements and rhythms of the flamenco. We expand on the basics of brazeo (armwork), taconeo (footwork), and palmas (rhythmic clapping) and learn combinations in the specific rhythms of tangos and/or alegrias.
Class card: $65 for a four-class card. (Expires in six weeks.) Drop-ins: $20

Int/Advanced (Technique/Choreography)
Saturdays 3:30 – 5:00 PM
This class is for those students who have had significant experience and/or training in flamenco dance. Students are expected to have a command of basic flamenco technique and rhythms, as the class is designed for more challenging technique and choreographies.
Class card: $65 for a four-class card. (Expires in six weeks.) Drop-ins: $20

Advanced Repertory
Second Saturdays of each month: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
This class is designed to review old choreographies that we’ve learned in class: alegrias, martinete, bulerias, seguiriyas, etc.
Price will be determined according to the amount of students participating.

Location
Classes are held at Tony Williams Dance Studio located in the Brewery Complex, 284 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain. Accessible via T (Stony Brook station on the Orange Line) or by car (plenty of free parking).  
Attire
Please wear character shoes, or boots/shoes with a thick, wide heel. Women should wear a flamenco skirt or a long, full skirt. Men should wear comfortable pants and a t-shirt.
